Hunting License

Hunting licence (non-residents of Ontario)

Before you can hunt in Ontario, you'll need:

• a hunting version Outdoors Card.
• all required licences, tags and/or seals for the game you wish to hunt.

Non-Ontario resident: an individual whose primary residence is not in Ontario or has not lived in the province for at least 6 consecutive months of the immediately preceding 12 months.

Hunting Basics

To hunt in Ontario, you must:

• be at least 16 years old
• have recognized hunting credentials from your home jurisdiction (or have recognized hunter credentials)
• follow all federal firearm regulations around declaring and transporting non-restricted firearms
• get a hunting version Outdoors Card
• get all required tags and seals for the game you wish to hunt
• You must carry both the hunting version Outdoors Card and licence tag whenever you hunt - and follow all hunting rules in Ontario Hunting Regulations Summary or Download the PDF.
